This was the second year that Mount Wise children competed in the multi-school competition on Plymouth Hoe during Armed Forces Day. We entered a team consisting of a mix of Year 4 and Year 5 children. Our fastest competitive run time improved from 3 minutes and 9 seconds to 2 minutes and 42 seconds (4th fastest time overall). Our aggregate time (the time of all 3 running times added together) also showed improvement from 10 minutes and 12 seconds to 8 minutes and 41 seconds (4th fastest overall).
A fantastic day had by all. Thank you to Mrs Osborne for organising the event, and to parents and carers who came to support their children.
A fantastic day had by all. A huge thank you to Mrs Osborne for organising the day, and to parents and carers who came to support their children.
Delving back in time to learn about the local history of Dartmoor and Plymouth during the Bronze Age. The children were absorbed, exploring the range of artefacts, interactive stimulus and media at The Box. A great day of learning for everyone. We are so privileged to have this museum so close to home, and free to visit.
Thank you to the students and teachers at Dartmoor College who organised a fantastic day of events on Dartmoor. The children learned about den building, survival on Dartmoor, building and lighting fires, orienteering and we talked lots about the environment being very different to a city. The children thoroughly enjoyed the day and still talk about it today!
A glorious day for a visit to the local beach for Key Stage 1. The children will no doubt remember this day for a long time. They all had great fun, exploring and learning.
